What we’re all about

Hybrid Homeschooling

Scholé is a hybrid microschool in Arlington, Virginia. We partner with homeschooling parents to offer a comprehensive classroom-based academic program two days per week, with weekly field trips to bring learning to life. We aim to help families strike the balance between homeschooling and a traditional school experience.

Meaningful Academics

Scholé (skoh-lay) is a greek word meaning “restful learning.” An atmosphere of scholé involves the pursuit of knowledge through leisure, conversation, and curiosity. Rich academic experiences through experimentation, discussion, and experience inspire a love of learning and endless opportunities for exploration.

Empowered Learners

Out-of-the-box. Unique. Differently wired. Creative. Gifted. Quirky. Our students see the world differently, and are empowered to use their gifts and talents to better the world around them. Real world projects have real world results, and children can have an impact today.

what makes us unique

Our Philosophy

Classical Roots

Seeking the good, the true, and the beautiful in the tradition of Classical Christian education. High quality literature, deep scientific inquiry, inspirational art, and rich discussions.

Progressive Methods

Hands-on, experiential learning. Problem solving through collaboration and critical thinking. Project-based, learner-centered curriculum. Learning by doing real things in the real world.

Community

A “best of both worlds” approach combining homeschooling with microschooling. Strong friendships (for kids and parents). Exploring, learning, and serving our community together.
